Dr. Mehmet Oz is ending his daily daytime talk show on Friday, Jan. 14, ending a 13-season run as he runs for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania. Oz's Senate run has already forced three TV stations to pull his show because of equal-time regulations for candidates. The following week, on Jan. 17, Oz's timeslot will be taken over by The Dr. Oz Show spinoff The Good Dish, hosted by daughter Daphne Oz, Gail Simmons and Jamika Pessoa. “Audiences have been loving what Daphne, Gail and Jamika have been serving up during their weekly segments on The Dr. Oz Show for years," said Sony Pictures Television's Zack Hernandez. "We have long believed The Good Dish would make an excellent stand-alone series and are delighted to be able to deliver this fresh take on the cooking genre to our station partners and their viewers across the country."
