Mexican-American author Shea Serrano, who went from middle school science teacher to New York Times bestselling author, is writing the family comedy based on his life growing up with five uncles who have five different perspectives on manhood. Serrano is perhaps best known as a writer for Bill Simmons’ Grantland and The Ringer. In addition to The Rap Year Book, Serrano recently released the book Basketball (And Other Things), which Lin-Manuel Miranda is eagerly reading.
