A Los Angeles jury found the 78-year-old real estate heir guilty Friday of first-degree murder in the 2000 shooting death of his friend and confidant Susan Berman in attempt to cover up the disappearance of his wife, Kathleen McCormack Durst, in New York in 1982. The trial began in March 2020, but was postponed due to the pandemic, resuming in May of this year. The trial ended six years after Durst's apparent confession in the 2015 HBO true-crime docuseries The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst.
