The Last Ship is unlikely to return for Season 6

TNT tried to shoot down rumors last week that The Last Ship was to end with Season 5 when a cast member posted (and later deleted) an Instagram post announcing a “series wrap"after five seasons. But Deadline reports that TNT is unlikely to bring The Last Ship back for a sixth season.
