The new opening sequence, running 30- to 45-seconds depending on how many guests there are on a given night, reflects the show's return to production in the Ed Sullivan Theater using drone cameras capturing behind-the-scenes activity at the late-night show. “It showcases how special our theater is," says senior producer Jake Plunket, who designed the new sequence with art director Andro Buneta. “There’s a lot of faces and places backstage that the audience hasn’t seen a lot of.” ALSO: Stephen Colbert returns from vacation sporting a white mustache.
