The 6.1 million who tuned in last night represented a huge 47% dropoff from the more than 11 million that watched the Season 8 opener on Oct. 22, 2017. The Season 9 debut was the second-lowest, just higher than the 5.35 million who watched the Season 1 premiere in 2010. ALSO: The Walking Dead has become boring with characters devoid of humanity.
