The late-night icon's life and career will be celebrated in Tom Who, which will be co-directed by his daughter, Ann Marie Snyder. Bob Hercules, who co-directed the Peabody-winning American Masters documentary Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise, will also co-direct. Tom Who will feature archival material for Snyder's The Tomorrow Show, which aired on NBC after The Tonight Show from 1973 to 1981. It was replaced by Late Night with David Letterman in 1982. In 1995, David Letterman tapped Snyder to become the first host of CBS' The Late Show, which Snyder hosted until 1999. Snyder died of complications of leukemia in 2007 at age 71. "The compelling story of my father deserves no less than the best possible chance to honor his work," says Anne Marie Snyder. "It’s my hope that this film will remind people of a time when journalists were not the enemy and carry on the legacy my father left behind.”
