In 2019, Netflix ordered 24 episodes of the Vikings sequel series without saying if the order would count for one, two or three seasons. Today Netflix announced that the 24 episodes will be divided into three seasons of eight episodes each. Netflix also revealed that Season 2 has wrapped filming in County Wicklow, Ireland and is expected to air in 2023 and that Season 3 is expected to begin filming later this spring. Netflix also announced that Vikings: Valhalla, which premiered Feb. 25, has totaled 194M hours watched in its first nine days, making it the No. 1 English language series in 90 countries on Netflix.
