While Tafoya's early November appearance on The View isn't the reason she's leaving NFL sideline reporting after more than two decades, the New York Post's Andrew Marchand says her appearance advocating conservative views "could foretell what she wants to do next. Tafoya has been a sportscaster for nearly the last three decades, so perhaps she wants to try something new after she does the Super Bowl on NBC in February. While her views made headlines, she did not seem as if she planned on backing down." In 2016, Sports Illustrated described Tafoya as an "anomaly among high-profile sports TV people--her social media feeds are very politically oriented." She was then known for her anti-President Obama and anti-Hillary Clinton tweets. NBC didn't have a problem with her views, but did ask her to remove "NBC Sports" from her Twitter bio. She's also backed Republican candidates. “I understand the ramifications,” Tafoya told Sports Illustrated in 2015. “They will ask what I am doing and what I am going to say. It’s not that they are censoring me but they just want to prevent me from going off the deep end, which I am not because I am a fairly moderate person. They have been extremely respectful about it.”
