The CBS series that Shatner hosted and narrated from 1989 to 1996 featuring reenactments (and real footage) of emergency calls is being rebooted by CBS Television Studios. No network is yet attached. Variety reports the new Rescue 911 will adapt a weekly two-hour live format, offering a live look at first responders taking real emergency calls -- kind of like A&E's Live PD. Variety says "Shatner would return to host the new series, with the veteran actor joining a panel made up of actual fire fighters, EMTs, and police personnel discussing the emergency calls in real time." Shatner will serve as executive producer along with Survivor vet Craig Piligian, CSI creator Anthony Zuiker and former Wonder Years star-turned-producer Jason Hervey.
