Fans of 9-1-1 and The Resident can look forward to new seasons of both shows next fall, as Fox has officially announced their renewals for the 2022-23 season.
Negotiations went down the wire for the network's two top dramas, with renewals closing just before the network's upfront presentation Monday afternoon. (Neither were included in a press release announcing its 2022-23 slate earlier today.)
Co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, 9-1-1 follows a team of first responders as they tackle both routine and far-fetched situations in the Los Angeles area. The drama stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Ryan Guzman, Aisha Hinds, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Kenneth Choi. 9-1-1, Fox's highest-rated Monday night series, airs its Season 5 finale on Monday, May 16.
The Resident is a medical drama that depicts the everyday lives of the doctors and nurses at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital, a fictional medical center, in Atlanta. It stars Matt Czuchry, Manish Dayal, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Bruce Greenwood, Jane Leeves, and Jessica Lucas. The Resident's Season 5 finale is set to air on Fox on Tuesday, May 17.
