Celtics star player Jayson Tatum, who was seriously injured during a game against New York Knicks at the Madison Square Garden earlier this week, has shared a update with his fans, announcing that he is now feeling better following his surgery.
According to ESPN, on Monday, Tatum suffered a massive injury during the fourth quarter of the game, where he fell to the floor in pain. Tatum, who was visibly distressed, was rushed off the court in a wheelchair.
The confirmation that Jayson Tatum had ruptured his Achilles tendon was given on Wednesday during a pregame conference by Boston Celtics coah, Joe Mazulla, who said that the 2024 Olympic Gold winner sent a message to the entire team to let them know he was doing better. He said:
"If anybody can handle it, it’s him. He sent a message to the staff and the players today, so he’s doing better,"
Later on Wednesday, Jayson Tatum took to Instagram to give fans an update on the serious injury he had suffered. In the post, Tatum shared a picture of himself, giving a thumbs up to the camera. He appeared to be still in the hospital, as he thanked fans for their support. He wrote:
"Thankful for all the love and support 🙏🏻"
Not just fans, but several of his teammates also commented on the post, wishing the six-time NBA star a quick recovery.
But despite the quick surgery following the incident, no official confirmation has been announced for when Jayson Tatum will rejoin the team. The official Boston Celtics page posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) stating that Tatum is expected to make a complete recovery, and further updates will provided when available.

According to ESPN, Jayson Tatum has now allegedly been ruled out of the rest of the season. An Achilles tendon injury, though quite common across various contact sports, can generally take atleast six to twelve months to heal, depending on the extent of the damage.
According to People Magazine, despite Jayson Tatum's absence from Wednesday's game, the Boston Celtics were able to win over the New York Knicks after Tuesday's defeat.
