Mammoth Lakes in California hosted the motocross competition last month, where the late teen enthusiast met with a deadly accident and succumbed to death.
On June 29, journalist Donn Maeda shared updates on Aidan's unfortunate death and acknowledged the young rider for his kind behavior and zeal to excel in his craft.
Praising him, Donn wrote in his Instagram caption,
"@aidanzingg was one of those kids that made an impression on you from the moment you met him."
Recalling interviewing Zingg for a "race series years ago when he was on a 65," he further penned,
"When I asked him how long it’d be until he beat his dad, he smirked and said, 'Soon, I’m sure.' After that, he always went out of his way to say hello, even recently when he grew into a fast big bike rider…you know; the age when teens get cocky and cool. Not Aidan."
While updating netizens from the Mini Monsters at Lincoln Trail in Illinois, he remembered Aidan and recounted the young talent's unforgettable memories "at these races." He expressed emotionally,
"Motocross gives us all so much pleasure, but it can also take from us."
Delving further into the accident, Maeda added,
"I've been told that he suffered fatal injuries at Mammoth MX today. My heart goes out to the Zingg family. I can’t even fathom what they’re feeling. Rest easy, buddy."
According to the July 11 USA Today report, the public information officer for the Mono County Sheriff's Office, Sarah Roberts, shared a statement on the tragedy via email. As the outlet cited, she stated,
"The family has the same if not more information, then we have."
The Sheriff's Office is responsible for the motocross player's autopsy.
According to People, DirtbikeLover opened up about Aidan's injury in a report, noting that he
"went down in a corner during a race"
According to that report, he was also
"reportedly run over by multiple bikes and remained unconscious on the track for two laps before the race was red flagged."
It appears the initial available information was not factual. A Next Level Sports Management spokesperson dismissed the previous details and released a statement to Fox News Digital to clarify the truth.
According to their statement, Zingg "was not run over by any motorcycles/riders."
After his death in June, X user Kris Keefer (@KKeefer120) mourned the loss by posting on the platform,
"Heavy day at Mammoth Mountain MX. Please put your prayers and thoughts towards the Ziing family. Hug your loved ones and tell them you love them."
