In an interview with GQ published Tuesday, Bella Hadid and Ramy Youssef previewed the third season of Ramy and Hadid's unconventional role on the Hulu series.
Created by and starring Youssef, dramedy Ramy chronicles Ramy's life as a first-generation Egyptian, Muslim American in New Jersey.
In Season 3, Hadid will guest star as "a weirdo girlfriend," according to GQ.
"People probably thought that my first acting job would be something super sensual and sexy," Hadid said, before revealing that was not at all the case.
Hadid and Youssef first connected back in January, after Youssef emailed the supermodel asking if she'd be interested in a guest role. After a long Zoom call, Hadid agreed.
"I was like, this is perfect," Hadid said. "We hadn't even met before, but I had a feeling it was gonna be kismet."
"It's probably one of the weirdest scripts we've ever written,” Youssef said of Hadid's role. "And that says a lot."
The upcoming season of Ramy also includes an episode that was shot on location in Haifa and Jerusalem, and was produced by Hiam Abbass (Succession), who plays Ramy's mother on the show. While Hadid is Palestinian, the episode was in the works before she was attached to guest star.
Hulu also announced on Wednesday that Ramy Season 3 premieres September 30.
Ramy Seasons 1-2 are currently available to stream on Hulu.
