Bob Odenkirk Posts an Emotional Thank You Video Following Better Call Saul Finale

Bob Odenkirk posted an emotional thank you video on Twitter late Monday night, following the Better Call Saul finale.

"Everybody's been asking me how I feel about saying goodbye to Saul Goodman and Better Call Saul, and I'm not good at answering the question because it's frankly hard for me to look at that experience and even at that character too closely," said Odenkirk. "It's just — it's too many moving parts, and they fit together too beautifully, and it's a mystery to me how it even happened."

"Thank you for watching," Odenkirk continued, before going on to also thank everyone involved in the show.

And in an interview with the Los Angeles Times published Monday, Odenkirk discussed how he was feeling as the show ended.

"I'm a little shattered about it," he said. "It's going to be hard. I've been asked many times over the last month what it's like with the show ending. It's not something I've really thought about because I'm protecting myself emotionally. Compartmentalization is a real mechanism. The truth is, I'm trying to let myself feel it. And it's going to hit me."

Following Better Call Saul, Odenkirk will soon begin filming a new series for AMC, titled Straight Man, based on the novel by Richard Russo. Odenkirk will play William Henry Devereaux, the chairman of an English department at a Pennsylvania college.

"The craziest thing is, all of these feelings I'm going through now — saying goodbye to this great thing — are going to be really helpful in this next role," Odenkirk told the LA Times. "I will go through feeling abandoned and going away. So it's lucky I have that to do, although I'm going to become more shattered and emotional in the next four weeks."

Seasons 1-5 of Better Call Saul are available to stream on Netflix.
