“I don’t know who made that up” - Cardi B goes on a rant addressing rumors that Stefon Diggs split was caused by her smelly BBL

Cardi B is responding to rumors flying around on social media that her Brazilian B*tt Lift, or as it is more commonly know, BBL smells. In a recent X Spaces live audio broadcast, the rapper took the rumor head on, and according to Hot New Hip Hop, said,

“First of all, I don't know who made that up.”

According to the recording reproduced by No Jumper on X, Cardi B lambasted people who started the rumor on social media, and said,

“Talking about people’s BBL stink…I don’t know what type of b**ch did a video saying that sh*t about herself, but b**ch, that's you. That's on you, b**ch…That could never be me.”

Continuing her rant, the Bodak Yellow rapper added,

“I’m Caribbean, I am Caribbean, b**ch. One thing our mamas don’t ever play around is, you better know how to wash that a**.”

As per Hot New Hip Hop, the rapper also highlighted that she was a stri**er earlier in her life before achieving professional success in the music industry, and is used to maintaining proper hygiene. She said,

“B**ch, I was a f***ing stri**er, you had to smell good all the time. I was raised by women, like please.”

Rumors surrounding Cardi B’s smelly BBL, explored

Rumors linking Cardi B’s alleged breakup with NFL player Stefon Diggs with the rapper’s so-called smelly BBL began circulating first when Cardi B removed all of Diggs’ images from her Instagram page just after the couple confirmed their relationship by appearing together at a Knicks game, as per Hot 97.

Hot New Hip Hop noted that the rumor picked up when netizens began falsely claiming that the New England Patriots wide receiver broke up with Cardi over her smelly BBL. An Instagram account stoked the speculation by falsely claiming that Diggs said,

“I tried to hold it down, but her BBL smelled like a trash bag in July.”

The Mirror US notes that the medical procedure of having a BBL can actually cause an odor. The publication quoted a plastic surgeon, Dr. Hassan, who said,

“The BBL smell can be an actual problem during recovery, but it’s not always a cause for concern. Also, the 'smell' in question can stem from various reasons — not all of which mean that something’s gone wrong with the surgery.”

While acknowledging that such a smell only lasts for a brief period after the surgery, he cautioned,

Cap is a common slang used to refer to when somebody is lying.

Meanwhile, Hot New Hip Hop noted that rumors about Cardi B and Diggs’ alleged break up might also be false as the rapper uploaded a video of the pair working out together on social media.
