A fundraiser organized for Cody Hale, who recently lost his wife to cancer, has been successful in raising $80,542, as per GoFundMe. The fundraiser organized by Hale’s family friend, Rebekah Bean on the GoFundMe website, got a rallying support from professional golfer Rickie Fowler.
Rickie Fowler took to Instagram to express his support for Hale. In his Instagram story, Fowler acknowledged Hale’s importance in his career and wrote,
“It’s a family out here on tour…Cody is someone who has been there for me and helped me…time for us to help him and his family.”
Fowler shared the link again on his story, as the link was difficult to access earlier. He wrote,
"The link was hard to see on the last story...here it is again if you want to help out"
Cody Hale is a manufacturing representative associated with Odyssey Golf, as per the website Essentially Sports. Hale works with professional golfers on the PGA Tour. Hale has been closely associated with Fowler as his putter fitter, as per Essentially Sports.
Cody Hale had been married to Kayla for more than ten years, according to Essentially Sports. As per the note posted alongside the fundraiser, Kayla succumbed to cancer after a courageous battle.
No further details about her illness were shared. However, the note shared a glimpse of the person that Kayla was when she was alive. In evocative terms, the note describes Kayla as:
“A light in the lives of so many- selfless, strong, compassionate, and full of grace. She gave so much of herself to others and always put her family and friends first.”
The note further goes on to mention the void that has been created in the family by her passing, particularly highlighting the loss for her two children, whom she shared with Hale. The note adds,
“She leaves behind her loving husband, Cody, and their two precious sons, Bowden and Bennett. As they face this unimaginable loss, we want to wrap them in love and support.”
While the GoFundMe page highlights the importance of everybody’s well wishes and prayers for the well-being of Kayla’s family, it further details the need for financial assistance, highlighting the much-needed time for grieving that Hale requires.
In an interview with Golf, Cody Hale recently opened up about the best putter-fitting strategy to help golfers succeed. In particular, he explained the function of a good putter fitter and said,
“We can identify areas for improvement whether it’s refining aim and start line accuracy, launch conditions or selecting a different putter model and balance profile better suited for that player’s stoke mechanics…We look at several factors when improving start line and it could be as simple as a slight aim adjustment (not all good putters aim it perfectly) or testing different hosel configurations and center of mass locations that may influence a players feel and stroke patterns.”
In addition, Hale spoke about how Putter Fitter adapts to the playing style of a golfer and added,
“Each player has a unique set of variables in his or her setup and stroke, and that’s the beauty and challenge of blending a shape, hosel configuration and balance profile to best suit a player’s stroke mechanics. A Tour player’s ‘feel’ is paramount, and their feedback plays a major role in shaping our recommendations. When we can tighten the gap between what the player perceives and the results, their focus can shift from mechanics to refining consistent feels, rhythm and speed control.“
Cody Hale was also a professional golfer from 2008 to 2012, noted Essentially Sports.
