Dale McRaven, creator of Mork & Mindy and Perfect Strangers, has passed away at 83.
McRaven died of complications from lung cancer on September 5. The industry legend was known for having co-created Mork & Mindy with the late Garry Marshall, as well as creating long-running sitcom Perfect Strangers on his own.
He was also benhind short-lived sitcoms Angie and The Texas Wheelers, and served as a writer and writer-producer on The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Partridge Family. Other credits include The Betty White Show, Get Smart, The Joey Bishop Show, and The Odd Couple. His work on Mork & Mindy earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1979.
McRaven retired from Hollywood in the 1990s and took up photography and art.
