Dale McRaven, Creator of Mork & Mindy, Perfect Strangers, Dead at 83

    Dale McRaven, creator of Mork & Mindy and Perfect Strangers, has passed away at 83.

    McRaven died of complications from lung cancer on September 5. The industry legend was known for having co-created Mork & Mindy with the late Garry Marshall, as well as creating long-running sitcom Perfect Strangers on his own. 

    He was also benhind short-lived sitcoms Angie and The Texas Wheelers, and served as a writer and writer-producer on The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Partridge Family. Other credits include The Betty White ShowGet SmartThe Joey Bishop Show, and The Odd Couple. His work on Mork & Mindy earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1979. 

    McRaven retired from Hollywood in the 1990s and took up photography and art.
