American rapper Destroy Lonely finds himself in hot water after a serious event involving a young fan at the Beach, Please! music festival in Romania. The 23-year-old artist, who has ties to Playboi Carti's Opium label, has stayed silent about the situation as of now.
The event took place over the weekend when Nicholas, a 15-year-old fan, got hurt after he tried to jump from the stage during Destroy Lonely's show. Romanian news source Adevărul reports that the teen used his phone to ask for permission to come on stage. The rapper seemed to say yes, and Nicholas joined him up there. But what happened next has raised eyebrows among festival goers and event planners alike.

The fan says the rapper pushed him to dive back into the crowd instead of leaving the stage. Nicholas states he showed doubt and told the rapper he didn't want to jump. He also claims the rapper grabbed his hoodie to make him leap. The jump went wrong, and Nicholas landed right on a metal barrier missing the crowd.
"You're going to jump! I need you to jump back into the fans! Are you ready?" the artist allegedly told him. "He kept telling me to jump, I backed away and told him clearly that I didn't want to," Nicolas alleged. "And at some point, he grabbed my hoodie and kept pushing me. When I fell, I thought I was dying. I had no more air, I ran out of air. And I don't know. I thought that if I don't get help here, these will be my last moments."
The fall left Nicholas with several injuries, including a bruised lung, harm to his liver, and kidney damage. He's now getting care in the intensive care unit at Constanța County Hospital where doctors expect him to stay for a few weeks.
The teen called the experience scary, saying he thought he would die because of the hit and not being able to breathe. His mom has spoken out about her distress and plans to make a formal complaint about what happened. After this, the people running the Beach, Please! festival have said they don't like how Destroy Lonely acted during his show. They told local news that they won't ask the artist to come back for future events.
Bobby Wardell Sandimanie III, who goes by the stage name Destroy Lonely, made a splash with his first studio album "If Looks Could Kill" in 2023. The record climbed to number 18 on the US Billboard 200. On June 5, 2025, Destroy Lonely unexpectedly dropped his ninth EP, See U Soon </3, exclusively on SoundCloud.
He's part of Opium, a branch of Interscope Records. His fanbase has grown thanks to his work with other artists on the label, like Ken Carson and Homixide Gang.
While fans await a formal statement, the situation remains under close public and media scrutiny. Whether legal action will be pursued or further consequences will follow is yet to be seen.
