Elisabeth Hasselbeck is returning to The View — this time as a guest co-host.
Hasselbeck will serve as a guest co-host on Wednesday, August 3, the final week of Season 25. She revealed the news exclusively to People Thursday morning, saying, "It will be an honor to cohost The View, share our bestselling children's book, 'Flashlight Night,' and as always tackle hot topics!"
Hasselbeck was once a regular on The View, serving as the show's resident conservative from 2003 to 2013. She last appeared on the show in March 2020, when she famously hoped to "pray" the coronavirus away.
During her time on the show, Hasselbeck often clashed with her co-hosts due to her conservative views. In 2007, she and then co-host Rosie O'Donnell got into a contentious argument over the Iraq War, and O'Donnell quit the show not long after.
Hasselbeck has been open about her time on The View, which she discussed in her 2019 book "Point of View: A Fresh Look at Work, Faith, and Freedom."
"Yes, there were bonds of friendship formed around the table despite opposing views, but there were also bonds broken because of those differing perspectives," she wrote at the time.
The View airs weekdays at 11:00 AM ET on ABC, with new episodes running through Friday, August 5.
