Erika Kirk cries over Charlie Kirk's body and touches his hands in the casket in a heartbreaking video

Charlie Kirk's widow Erika Kirk issued a statement addressing the assassination and also shared a tribute to her husband on social media.

    Charlie Kirk passed away on Wednesday, September 10 and his wife Erika Kirk has now broken her silence. She has uploaded an Instagram post with a bunch of photos and videos. The video included one in which Erika was seen crying over Kirk's body and further touching his hands while he laid in the casket.

    In the heartbreaking video, Erika touched Charlie's hands, kissed them, and told him that she loved him. The series involved a photo in which Erika was seen sitting and leaning on the casket, spending some final moments with her late husband, who was assassinated in Utah. 

    A few photos captured Erika with Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance. Erika was seen hugging Vance, while Usha also stood there. A few photos were from the time when they brought Charlie's remains to Arizona. One photo captured Usha holding Erika's hand and comforting her.

    The Instagram post further came with a lengthy caption that read,

    "They have no idea what they just ignited within this wife. If they thought my husband’s mission was big now..you have no idea. You. All of you. Will never. Ever. Forget my husband @charliekirk1776 I'll make sure of it..."

    The post garnered condolences from his followers and netizens.

    A video address by Erika Kirk to the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, was posted on the latter's feeds on social media platforms like X and Instagram. In the beginning of the video, Erika seemed to be finding it difficult to keep herself composed and ended up taking some time to gather herself. 

    She was issuing the statement on Friday, from her husband's Turning Point USA office. She then went about thanking the law enforcement officials for arresting Tyler Robinson, the suspected gunman who allegedly assassinated Charlie at Utah Valley University this week. She continued,

    "The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done."

    Erika additionally stated,

    "They should all know this: if you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you just have unleashed across the country and this world."

    At one point during the video address, Erika Kirk made references to JD Vance and Donald Trump. She called Vance a close friend of Charlie and then went about saying that her husband loved Trump. She further said that she believed the friendship that they shared was "amazing."

    She also spoke about the heartbreaking moment when she was asked by their three-year-old daughter as to where her father was. On X, the video garnered more than 3 million views while on Instagram, the clip was viewed over a million times. Many netizens resonated with Erika Kirk and sent her empathy and condolences. 


    After a 33-hour long manhunt, law enforcement officials arrested Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old man for allegedly assassinating Charlie Kirk at UVU. According to the BBC, Tyler's dad persuaded him to surrender to the authorities. The news about his arrest was first announced by President Trump.
