Kelly Clarkson, 43, kickstarted her Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions in Las Vegas on July 11, 2025.
However, she had to cancel her first two opening shows of her Las Vegas residency. Shortly before her first performance, she had to call it off, according to a People report.
Us Weekly cited a TikTok video of Clarkson apologizing to her fans during her Friday concert. Expressing her regret, she said,
"Man, I'm so sorry if some of y’all had [tickets to] last weekend’s shows."

The Since U Been Gone hitmaker further continued,
"I'm so sorry. We can’t help our bodies sometimes, and that happens, but thank you for showing up. We’re so excited."
During her Friday concert, The Kelly Clarkson Show host performed some of her iconic hits, including Stronger, Where Have You Been, and My Life Would Suck Without You, People reported.
Meanwhile, she also confirmed interesting news about her previous music collections, chiming in,
" I just sold my catalog, a percentage of it. It's one of those things, and when I was doing that, it was so apparent to me that my catalog would not be my catalog without that man behind that piano. People have no idea."
Kelly had no other option but to abruptly cancel her first two residency shows, as continuous rehearsals damaged her vocal cords. To avoid any further injury, she needed proper rest to heal the strain.
In a conversation with People, an insider revealed that the singer "didn’t want to cancel any shows." However, the impact of rehearsals affected her vocal health.
On July 5, just hours before the opening show, she released an official statement on Instagram, elaborating on the reason for suspending the show.
In her statement, Clarkson pointed out how she and her team worked 24/7 to make her much-awaited concert "the most intimate and extraordinary experience" for her beloved fans. Expressing her thankfulness, she penned,
"I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars."
The Already Gone singer opened up further, conveying,
"The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve. The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong."
Though she was unwell and devastated to cancel the energetic nights, she remained enthusiastic and optimistic, sharing,
"I can't wait to be back next weekend and show y’all what we’ve been working on."
She apologized to her fans and the crowd at the July 11 concert and had a tequila shot with an attendee, too. Enjoying this special moment, she cheered,
"I'm celebrating because I had to cancel last weekend. I cried. I was so sick, it sucked. I’m so happy to be here."
Us Weekly reported Clarkson talking about the intimate studio performance, noting,
"I love being in the studio, and that’s where this entire idea came from."
Sharing more about the night, she added,
"[I’ll] give you a little sneak peek of what we do, and there’s nothing like getting in the studio with a bunch of musicians and just vibing with each other. You’re feeding off [everyone’s] different emotional state, and it’s just really cool."
After 2023, Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions marks the Grammy Award winner's second Las Vegas residency.
Last time, she set the stage on fire with blockbuster songs from her 2023 album titled Chemistry.
Discussing her album in a June 2023 interview with Vogue, Kelly revealed,
"Having chemistry with someone is an incredible and overwhelming feeling. It’s like you have no choice in the matter—you are just drawn to each other. This can be good or bad. This album takes you down every path that chemistry could lead you down."

Clarkson caught everyone's attention in 2023 by shedding a significant amount of weight. Her dramatic weight loss led to speculations and raised several eyebrows.
However, she did restrict herself from speaking about her health conditions or shied away from revealing the truth.
Indirectly dismissing the Ozempic allegations, she confessed to being "prediabetic" to Kevin James on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. As CNN cited, she explained,
"Well, I was told I was prediabetic. I was a tiny bit overweight."
Delving further, she said that her diagnosis was "right on the borderline." Recalling her reaction, she commented,
"I was like ‘But I’m not there yet.'"
Clarkson also admitted taking around two years to feel "ready to do something" for her health and physical well-being.
Soon, she consulted with her doctors and began following a healthier lifestyle with several changes in her diet and workout regimen.
She further noted:
"There’s a huge difference between being in shape and losing weight — and I am the latter."
With another guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host looked back on her health crisis and treatment in a chit-chat with Whoopi Goldberg. Disclosing that her "blood work got so bad," she said,
"My doctor chased me for like two years, and I was like, ‘No I’m afraid of it, I already have thyroid problems.'"
As Today reported, the American Idol winner clarified the Ozempic rumors, stating,
"Everyone thinks it’s Ozempic — it's not. It's something else. But it's something that aids in helping break down the sugar. Obviously my body doesn’t do it right."
Kelly recounted the moment when she saw herself on camera and was surprised to see her slimmer and fitter self, asking herself,
"Who the f*ck is that?"
She might have weighed much more before, but she never felt insecure about her looks. Expressing her confidence, she explained on her show,
"My heaviest, I was like 203, and I’m 5 foot 3 and a half. It's funny because people assume, 'Oh she must’ve been miserable, depressed, whatever,' and I was like, 'No I was not.' I was never insecure about it, I was happy."
Last year in January, the Mr. Know It All singer revealed the much-anticipated secret to her weight loss in an exclusive conversation with People.
Equipping how roaming around helped her, she remarked,
"Walking in the city is quite the workout. And I’m really into infrared saunas right now. And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down."
Her comments on walking to lose weight led to online criticism as well.
She also shared a sneak peek into her diet, discussing,
"I eat a healthy mix. I dropped weight because I've been listening to my doctor — a couple years I didn’t. And 90 percent of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I'm a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!"
Leaving a message for her 15-year-old self, she conveyed,
"It's going to get easier. I've always been that kind of person that's a little hard on oneself. I'd be like, 'It's not going to happen anytime soon, but eventually it'll get easier. Around 41, you’re really going to get your s*it together.'"
While her struggle for healthier physical health and weight management might have come under control, she reportedly has been "hidden battles."
A source opened up to Page Six about the star's stressful personal life, calling it "insanely complicated." According to the revelations,
"Kelly's personal life is so insanely complicated … Kelly is fighting some serious hidden battles that very few people are privy to … it’s a source of emotional and therefore physical distress for her."
