A new Ghostbusters animated series is currently in the works at Netflix, Variety reported on Wednesday.
Plot details are being kept secret, but Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, who co-wrote the live-action film Ghostbusters: Afterlife, are returning to executive produce.
The Netflix series marks the third animated Ghostbusters show in the franchise's history, with The Real Ghostbusters airing from 1986-1991 and Extreme Ghostbusters airing for one season in 1997. The Ghostbusters franchise first launched in 1984 with a feature film directed by Ivan Reitman, Jason's father, and co-written by stars Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.
