Earlier this month, Trisha Paytas and her husband, Moses Hacmon, welcomed their third child, their youngest son. The couple named their son Aquaman Moses Paytas‑Hacmon, inspired by the iconic Aquaman character.

In a recent candid conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the DC-famed James Gunn reacted to the unique name of the little boy, based on one of the renowned characters of the DC comics franchise.

Without detailing much with his response, he left a quite simple answer when asked about his thoughts on Trisha's youngest child's name.

As Dexerto reported the exclusive interview by Entertainment Weekly, Gunn spoke about the little one's interesting name, sharing,

"I saw that, yes. I think that’s cool! I mean… I hope he does okay in school."

Recalling his memories of attending school with the Gunn surname, he further added,

"I had a hard time with the last name Gunn, like, Tommy Gun, BB Gun, Ray Gun. I’m like, 'Okay, we get it.'"

Continuing the chit-chat with the host, James also asked,

"Is the middle name Gary or something?"

Concerned about the kid visiting school in the upcoming years, he also enquired,

"Won’t he get made fun of at school? Do kids make fun of kids anymore?"

The Superman director's reaction to Trisha Paytas naming her son Aquaman caught significant attention on social media platforms. Dexerto confirmed an Internet user commenting,

"James just politely said, 'Good luck, little dude.'"

Another netizen left a comment, stating,

"That was the most polite 'yikes' I’ve ever read"

Lauding Gunn for his supposedly cryptic answer, someone wrote,

"Gunn kept it classy with a side of shade."

Just a few days ago, Trisha dropped a carousel of photos of herself and her family posing with the newest member. Sharing the most adorable glimpses of spending joyful family moments, she announced the birth of her youngest son, Aquaman Moses Paytas‑Hacmon. She gave birth to her baby on July 12, 2025 at 12:40 AM, she added in the caption of her special post dedicated to her son.

Ever since she unveiled the name of her youngest child, a rush of remarks and opinions made it to her comments section. Instagrammers shared different theories and perspectives on the social media personality naming her child quite differently from usual names.

Before Aquaman, her eldest daughter, born in 2022, was named Malibu Barbie Paytas‑Hacmon. Trisha and Moses named their second child, their youngest daughter, Elvis Paytas‑Hacmon.

Reacting to the name, a netizen thought of a cryptic approach, noting,

"i have a theory that these names are all fake for the sake of ragebaiting/privacy of her children"

    A visibly dissatisfied user commented,

"That child is going to grow into an adult. Baby names aren't a joke. They need REAL names. Not cartoon characters and superheroes"

Some Instagrammers even linked his birth to Ozzy Osbourne by writing under the post,

    "Welcome back Ozzy"

Trisha has been receiving unnecessary backlash for naming her son Aquaman. Amid the negativity, an Instagram user stood out and supported the internet celebrity, stating,

"People are so weird, complaining about how many babies Trish is having. She has the means to take care of them and they're obviously being raised in a loving two-parent home. I hope she has dozen or so beautiful babies!!"
