Embattled Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin Departs CNN After 20 Years

Jeffrey Toobin's time at CNN is over.

The legal analyst, who had been with the network for over 20 years, tweeted the news of his departure on Friday.

"Friends, I've decided that, after 20 years, I'm leaving CNN after my vacation," the tweet read. "Was great to spend my last day on air with pals Wolf, Anderson and Don. Love all my former colleagues."

The news comes a little more than a year after Toobin returned to the network after being placed on leave in relation to an incident the previous October where he exposed himself to colleagues during a Zoom call.

Toobin was masturbating and claimed he didn't know he was exposing himself. "I didn't think I was on the call," Toobin said of the incident. "I didn't think other people could see me."

When Toobin returned to CNN after an 8-month leave, he condemned his "deeply moronic and indefensible" actions and said he was a "flawed human being who makes mistakes."

In a statement, a spokesperson for CNN said the network is "grateful for Jeffrey's contributions to the network over the years" and wishes him "all the best in his future endeavors."
