Jimmy Kimmel announced Tuesday night that he'd tested positive for COVID-19, a week after returning to his show from a prior bout with the virus. "I’m such a positive person, I tested positive AGAIN," Kimmel tweeted, adding "I am feeling fine."
John Mulaney and Andy Samberg, who had been scheduled to appear with Kimmel Wednesday night to promote their new movie Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers will instead serve as guest hosts. The show aired reruns Monday and Tuesday night so that Kimmel could travel to New York to appear at ABC's upfront presentation. He ended up appearing remotely.
Kimmel is the second late night host to be waylaid by a recurrent case of COVID in as many weeks. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was forced to go dark last week after Colbert, who first contracted COVID in late April, tested positive again himself.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on ABC weeknights at 11:35 PM.
