Julie Andrews, the voice of Bridgerton's Lady Whistledown, has never actually met the cast of the hit Netflix drama, she told Hoda Kotb on the Today show Wednesday morning.
"You know I've never met the company in person," Andrews said. "Of course, I see them on the show sometimes. But I do all my recording far, far away from them."
The news that Andrews voices Lady Whistledown came as a surprise to Today co-host Savannah Guthrie, who was sitting off-camera for a majority of the interview.
"Mind blown," said Guthrie as the camera panned towards her. "My mind is blown. I had no idea, which actually speaks to what a wonderful performance it is. It's not Julie Andrews. It's Lady Whistledown."
The first two seasons of Bridgerton are streaming on Netflix, with Seasons 3 and 4 on the way.
