Law & Order Set to Make History With Potential Three-Show Crossover Event

A three-way Law & Order crossover may be coming to NBC this fall.

According to TVLine, the crossover will involve all three of NBC's Law & Order series — Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order: Organized Crime — and is being considered to launch the new seasons of each show on Thursday, September 22.

This would be the first time the Law & Order franchise employs a three-way crossover for their current shows. In the past, SVU has crossed over with two of Dick Wolf's other series, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Fire.

Although the release date for the crossover is reportedly set for September 22, a source tells TVLine that scheduling issues could push the episode further into fall.

However, even if it's pushed slightly, it seems likely that the episode will air towards the beginning of the season. In May, Law & Order showrunner Rick Eid told Entertainment Tonight, "There’s been some talk about a three-show crossover for next season. Whether it's the first, second, or third episode, I'm not sure."

NBC declined to comment on this story.
