Jyrelle Justin O'Connor, aka Loski, has found himself in legal troubles again. The police officers who were investigating a fatal collision on the M40 motorway detained the drill rapper for carrying a pocket knife, per The Bucks Herald. BBC confirmed that multiple arrests were made after the crash happened near Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
For those unaware, O’Connor hails from Kennington, London. Loski was previously known as Lil' Nizzy. According to The Guardian, his former stage name was inspired by his father, Ty Nizzy, who was part of the Brixton rap group PDC. In a 2020 interview with Vice, Jyrelle was asked about his relationship with his dad. The UK drill rapper replied,
“It was calm and maybe if I was whack, they’d be like ‘allow it’ [to pursue music as a career] but both parents have supported me.”
Loski is part of the hip-hop group Harlem Spartans and has dropped multiple tracks as a leading and featured artist. He released his debut and only album, Music, Trial & Trauma: A Drill Story, in 2020 and followed it up with an EP titled Censored in 2021. Loski has also sung on three mixtapes – Call Me Loose, Mad Love, and See You At The Gates.
Apart from his music career, the Kennington rapper has also garnered media attention for criminal charges against him and a conviction in 2023. Following his release from prison in September 2024, Loski was again arrested recently in Buckinghamshire. O'Connor again faced prison time after the police found a pocket knife on him.
According to The Bucks Herald, a collision between a black Volkswagen Golf and a blue Mercedes AMG C250 occurred on Saturday, July 12, around 1:15 a.m. on the M40 in Buckinghamshire. The police personnel investigating the crash spotted Loski during the early hours of Saturday. The officials chased him down and found a pocket knife.
The Bucks Herald confirmed that Loski was at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Beaconsfield, where the police were searching for the driver of the AMG C250. The person driving the VW Golf, reported to be in his early 20s, died at the scene. The passenger of the car, also in his 20s, was confirmed to have survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
Loski appeared in High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to possession of a knife and resisting a police officer. Per The Bucks Herald, the rapper was sentenced to eight months in prison. After his conviction, Detective Sergeant Ed Crofts, Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said (via The Sun),
“I am pleased he is back behind bars where he belongs. We will never tolerate anybody carrying dangerous weapons in our community and will seek to bring to justice those that do so.”
In April 2019, Loski was detained after he was found carrying a revolver. The rapper was convicted in January 2023 for the possession of a prohibited firearm and was sentenced to seven years in jail. According to The Guardian, Jyrelle also faced a conviction in 2015, when a single-barrel shotgun was discovered under his bed.
