Five years after wrapping his Comedy Central series Nathan For You, Nathan Fielder returns to television in HBO's trailer for The Rehearsal.
In the new series, Fielder talks to real people who need help initiating difficult conversations in their lives. Fielder uses actors and a construction crew to replicate their homes and rehearse the conversations, exploring "the lengths one man will go to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life," HBO explains.
The Rehearsal trailer showcases Fielder's trademark deadpan humor, as he prepares "carefully crafted simulations" with meticulous care.
"I've been told my personality can make people uncomfortable," Fielder says in the trailer, "But I've learned that if you plan for every variable, a happy outcome doesn't have to be left to chance."
The Rehearsal premieres July 15 on HBO and HBO Max.
