Nathan Fillion Defends Joss Whedon: 'I Would Work With Him Again in a Second'

Despite the numerous misconduct allegations against Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion is defending his longtime collaborator. In fact, the actor is actually eager to work with the disgraced Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly creator again.

On a recent episode of the "Inside of You" podcast, Fillion discussed the Vulture interview with Whedon from January that detailed the many toxic workplace and sexual misconduct allegations against him. "I read that article... I had an entirely... that was not my experience with that man," said Fillion.

Fillion went on to describe Whedon as "funny, self-deprecating, incredibly talented" and "maybe a little haunted." The actor then added, "I mean, listen by his own admission that guy's a work in progress and I appreciate that... I would work with Joss again in a second. I would work with him again in a second."

Whedon has been accused of misconduct by several members of the Buffy cast and production team, including star Charisma Carpenter.

In addition, Justice League star Gal Gadot accused Whedon of threatening her career. Ray Fisher also claimed Whedon exhibited toxic behavior during reshoots for the DC film, calling his behavior "gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable." Whedon has denied the allegations.

Fillion and Whedon worked together on several projects, including the science fiction series Firefly, which ran for one season in 2002.

Fillion revealed he and Whedon have discussed a revival of the series, saying, "We talk, we joke, we fantasize." However, when asked whether he would be willing to do a reboot without Whedon due to the allegations against him, Fillion responded, "It would be heartbreak. How can you?"
