NBC will air a one-hour prime-time special this Sunday to help raise funds and awareness for the war in Ukraine. The event, titled Ukraine: Answering the Call, will feature appearances from an array of actors, musicians and Broadway stars, along with an address from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Celebrities slated to appear on the special include José Andrés, Jon Batiste, Kristen Bell, Brandi Carlile, Brian Cox, Jeff Daniels, Vera Farmiga, Lena Headey, Alicia Keys, Simu Liu, Julianne Moore, Brad Paisley, and Rosie Perez. In addition, a large group of Broadway performers will sing a special rendition of "What the World Needs Now is Love."
Throughout the program viewers will be encouraged to make donations to the International Rescue Committee (IRC), an organization dedicated to helping those affected by humanitarian crises.
A digital collectible created by a Ukrainian artist will also be available to download via a QR code displayed during the broadcast. Zelus Wallet says it will donate $10 to the IRC each time the NFT is downloaded, up to $500,000.
Ukraine: Answering the Call airs on NBC Sunday July 3rd at 7:00 PM ET.
