The trailer for Netflix's latest teen drama series First Kill promises a bloody take on Romeo and Juliet.
In the just-released trailer, Calliope, played by Eight Grade's Imani Lewis, comes to terms with the fact that she must kill a vampire to solidify her place in her family of bona fide monster hunters. Meanwhile, a vampire teen named Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) realizes she must kill a human as her bloodlust is becoming too much to bear. The pair sets their sights on each other, but before long, they develop a forbidden love that their families condemn.
Adapted from a V.E. Schwab short story of the same name, First Kill is reminiscent of hits like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Vampire Diaries. In addition to Hook and Lewis, the large ensemble cast includes Elizabeth Mitchell, Will Swenson, and Aubion Wise.
First Kill premieres June 10 on Netflix.
