A mysterious new series has been greenlit at Peacock from Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm director Jason Woliner. Woliner has reportedly been shooting the project for over 10 years, but Peacock has revealed nothing about the series itself, instead simply hyping it up by calling it, "a groundbreaking project" that is both "mind-bending" and "jaw-dropping."
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Loreli Alanis, Megan Ellison, Michael Sagol, and Bert Hamelinck will executive produce.
“This show is unlike anything else you’ll see this year,” said Lionsgate Television EVP & Head of Scripted Development Scott Herbst in a statement. “This is one of the most bizarre, out-of-the-box shows I’ve ever worked on, and I can’t believe we’re even getting to make it.”
Lisa Katz, president of scripted content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming added, “We can’t wait to dive in with renowned filmmaker Jason Woliner, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and our partners at Lionsgate for this truly unique series that begins with betrayal and quickly becomes an epic, hilarious, action-packed journey. We know Peacock audiences will be hooked by this unpredictable mystery that examines a complex man on a remarkable journey.”
There is no word yet on who will appear in the untitled Woliner project, nor is there any info on the plot or release date.
