Grab that AFC Richmond jersey and tap the "Believe" sign because new details about Ted Lasso Season 3 have finally emerged. During a presentation at the Television Critics Association 2023 Winter Press Tour, Apple announced that Ted Lasso is set to return for its third season this spring on Apple TV+.

In addition to the release information, Apple TV+ shared a first-look photo from Season 3. The photo shows Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and a gray-haired Nate (Nick Mohammed) coming face-to-face in an elevator in the wake of Nate's departure for West Ham United, the rival team owned by Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head).

While nothing in Apple's announcement indicated that Ted Lasso will end with Season 3, rumors have been swirling since star Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent, told the Daily Times in June 2022 that the new installment was written as the finale. "It was planned as three [seasons]," he said at the time.

However, Goldstein and his fellow cast members quickly clarified that the fate of Ted Lasso is in Sudeikis' hands. "It's written as in the story we have been telling will reach a conclusion," Goldstein told Variety's Awards Circuit Podcast in July. "And that's how it was always planned. That doesn't necessarily mean it can't continue. But it's a kind of three act conclusion to this story."

"No one has told me it's over," added Juno Temple. "No one said that to me. But no one said that it's not. So I don't — I'm literally in limbo."

If Ted Lasso Season 3 does prove to be its last, it will go out as one of the most celebrated comedies of all time. The series is one of only seven comedies to win back-to-back Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series in their first two seasons (a group that includes 30 Rock, Frasier, and The Golden Girls) and recently broke records by becoming the most Emmy-winning comedy for the second year in a row, with four total wins for Outstanding Comedy, Lead Actor (Sudeikis), Supporting Actor (Goldstein), and Directing (MJ Delaney).
