The Daily Show with Trevor Noah is collaborating with VoiceMap to launch an interactive, self-guided walking tour that takes listeners through the events of the January 6 insurrection in Washington, D.C.
The tour, titled "In the Footsteps of the Freedomsurrection," will allow listeners to follow the exact route insurrectionists took on January 6, guiding them through the events that occurred before, during, and after that day, Comedy Central announced Wednesday. The tour begins near the White House and makes 15 stops down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol.
The "Freedomsurrection" tour will also be available virtually for those who can't go to D.C., with photographs of locations along the route.
VoiceMap's technology will aim to recapture the history of January 6 for Washington, D.C. visitors. VoiceMap is a publishing platform and mobile app for location-based audio tours that use GPS to play audio automatically.
"In the Footsteps of the Freedomsurrection" serves as a follow-up to The Daily Show's "Heroes of Freedomsurrection" installation, which included a collection of monuments paying "tribute" to the "heroes" responsible for the January 6 insurrection.
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airs weeknights at 11:00 PM ET on Comedy Central.
