For the first time in 19years, The Ellen Degeneres Show was not among the nominees announed today for Best Entertainment Talk Show at the Daytime Emmys. The Emmys snub comes as DeGeneres completes her final season of the show.
While the series wasn't nominated for Best Entertainment Talk Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show did, however, garner nominations for writing and set design.
DeGeneres' snub comes after a series of toxic workplace complaints involving harassment, racist comments, and microaggressions at The Ellen Degeneres Show, prompting a WarnerMedia investigation into the allegations. Following the investigation, executive producers Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman, and Jonathan Norman were fired from the show.
Over the past 18 years, the show has received 171 Daytime Emmy nominations and won 61. DeGeneres herself won the award for Outstanding Talk Show Host four times.
The nominees for Best Entertainment Talk Show this year are The Drew Barrymore Show, YouTube's Hot Ones, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Live With Kelly and Ryan, and Today Show With Hoda & Jenna.
