The Golden Girls fans can thank their friends with a meal even the Shady Pines gals would approve of at LA's newest pop-up restaurant and bar, The Golden Girls Kitchen.
Heading to Beverly Hills in July, the immersive pop-up experience will feature a Golden Girls-themed menu, 1980s Miami decor, and recreations of iconic sets from the show. Tickets sell for $50 each and include a dine-in reservation, an entree, and dessert. Fans of the series can take photos at the iconic kitchen table or lanai, purchase themed merchandise, and enjoy being waited on by Shady Pines staff. There will also be a host of programming such as panels and collaborations with local chefs.
Some of the themed menu items include Sophia’s Lasagna (available in both meat and vegan options), Blanche’s Georgia Style Cookies, and The Dorothy: A Miami Style Sandwich. To wash it down, diners can choose from themed drinks like the Tea Arthur and Rose on Rosé. Additional menu items will be available, including cheesecake for dessert and other à la carte options. Those who can't make it to the restaurant can even order delivery.
The Golden Girls is beloved for its heartwarming and hilarious depiction of four friends living together at The Shady Pines retirement home in Miami. The comedy ran from 1985-1992 and starred Bea Arthur as Dorothy, Rue McClanahan as Blanche, Betty White as Rose, and Estelle Getty as Dorothy's mom, Sophia.
Tickets have not yet gone on sale but interested fans can sign up to join the waiting list.
