Amazon Orders Animated Sci-Fi Series The Hospital From Maya Rudolph, Natasha Lyonne

Maya Rudolph and Natasha Lyonne (Photos: Amazon/Netflix)Amazon has ordered two seasons of animated sci-fi comedy The Hospital, starring Maya Rudolph, Natasha Lyonne, Keke Palmer, Greta Lee, Kieran Culkin, and Sam Smith.
The Hospital follows Sleech (Lee) and Klak (Palmer), two alien best friends and "intergalactically renowned surgeons" as they tackle the most challenging medical cases in the galaxy, according to a statement from Amazon. The two friends risk their careers to take on a particularly difficult case, putting all of existence at risk.
In addition to voicing characters, Rudolph and Lyonne with executive produce under their Animal Pictures banner. The series is created by Russian Doll alum Cirocco Dunlap, who has also worked on Big Mouth and Miracle Workers.
"Working with Animal Pictures, Amazon Studios, and Titmouse to create a show that prominently features unsexy alien sex has been one of the best experiences of my life," said Dunlap in a statement.
