The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is going dark again, just one week after its host returned from a COVID-related hiatus. The show's official Twitter account announced that Colbert is "experiencing symptoms consistent with a recurrence of COVID," and as a result, new tapings have been paused.

"Out of an abundance of caution for his staff, guests, and audience, he will be isolating for a few additional days," the announcement continued. "The Late Show will not be taping new episodes until further notice."

Colbert followed up the announcement on his personal Twitter account, calling the recurrence the "worst sequel ever."

Guests slated to appear on The Late Show's upcoming episodes included Sarah Silverman, Shaquille O’Neal, former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, Tracy Letts, Jean Smart, Hugh Dancy, Jake Tapper, and Ken Jeong.
