The victory of the Los Angeles Dodgers over Toronto Blue Jays in the 11th inning of World Series Game 7 on Saturday (November 1), gave many Americans a reason to celebrate, including the celebrities. However, Meghan Markle - who was one of them celebrating online - has since received a strong criticism over it.
Markle posted a video of herself watching the game at home with her husband, Prince Harry, and friend Kelly Mckee Zajfen on her Instagram story.
In the black-and-white clip, Meghan's excited shriek was heard before she entered the frame, went to Harry, who was visibly unaffected as he sat on one of the chairs.
Whenever my team wins, I immediately stop celebrating so I can set up my phone and record my boyfriend’s reaction — even if he couldn’t care less — because that’s totally normal behavior. Forget “being in the moment.” This is why every marriage proposal should be filmed: always… pic.twitter.com/dgKCMYRuOQ

Shouting "Oh My God!," the Suits actress then kissed him, before she went on to hug Zajfen and the girls jumped up and down as they celebrated the victory.
The Instagram story has since been making rounds on social media, with many netizens calling it out as a fake or staged reaction. One of them happens to be political podcaster, Megyn Kelly, who retweeted the clip on X, writing:
"This is the same woman who made sure she was photographed AT UVALDE & filmed her bare feet casually up in the car as she drove by Diana’s death tunnel… there is literally nothing she won’t exploit for self-promotional reasons."
Markle's story was also reshared on Instagram by her friend, Kelly, whose caption suggested that perhaps Harry wasn't a supporter of the Dodgers. Mckee wrote:
"Best game ever!!! Sorry H your team didn't win but mine diiiiiiid. @dodgers I LOVE YOU!!!!"
However, earlier last week (on Tuesday, October 28), both Harry and Meghan were spotted at the Dodger Stadium with blue Dodgers caps on as they watched the Dodgers vs Blue Jays game, where the latter ended up winning.
While the actress, who is an LA native, happens to be a longtime Dodgers supporter, Harry's support for the team has surprised many online.
Meghan Markle hired former Netflix publicist Emily Robinson in June to help oversee her PR but it has now emerged that she is no longer working for the Sussexes https://t.co/9PYihorzwK pic.twitter.com/rvp4Rq37h1

Meghan Markle's Instagram story comes nearly a week after the couple's publicist, Emily Robinson, takes her leave from the role. Per PEOPLE, Robinson joined the Sussexes's staff in May 2025, serving as their director of communications. Before the royal gig, she worked as a Senior Director of Publicity at Netflix.
Sources with inside information on the matter have confirmed that it was Robinson's own choice to exit the role, and that she isn't the first one to have left the Sussexes in recent years. After the couple moved to California in 2020, both their press secretary Kyle Boulia press officer Charlie Gipson left their service within a year.
In 2024, Ashley Hansen - their global press secretary and head of communications, also parted ways with Meghan and Harry.
While neither parties have commented on the matter so far, the Sussexes' frequent staffing changes doesn't seem to be a coincidence.
