Tokyo Vice Renewed for Season 2 at HBO Max

Crime drama Tokyo Vice has been renewed for a second season on HBO Max.

The series, inspired by American journalist Jake Adelstein's time on the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat, follows Adelstein's (played by Ansel Elgort) journey into the Tokyo crime scene in the late 1990s. Tokyo Vice also stars Ken Watanabe, Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Keller, and Hideaki Ito.

"Writing and then making the first season of Tokyo Vice with this remarkable group of artists was a matchless experience," said show creator J.T. Rogers in a statement. "So I'm over the moon that we get to keep going. I can't wait to get back to work in Tokyo with our brilliant cast and crew. Stay tuned: there are twists and turns in the tale to come!"

Season 1 of Tokyo Vice is currently streaming on HBO Max.
