Trevor Noah has officially set his Daily Show exit.
Comedy Central revealed Wednesday that the host would conclude his seven-year run on Thursday, December 8. The news comes following Noah's surprise September 29 announcement that he was leaving the show. The Daily Show will host a "celebratory look back at his greatest moments" from December 5.
Noah made his debut as Daily Show host in September 22015 following the departure of 16-year host Jon Stewart. The 38-year-old has expressed an interest in exploring other areas of his career, including stand-up comedy.
"Trevor is an incredible talent who has left an indelible mark on The Daily Show and we’re grateful for his creative partnership over the past seven years,” said Chris McCarthy, President & CEO, Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios.
"Chris [McCarthy] has been an amazing leader and partner who has helped me realize my dream of working not just in front of the camera, but also behind the scenes, producing content which now airs across the Paramount family," added Noah. "I'm truly excited to see what the future holds."
The Daily Show will return on January 17, 2023 and "will embark on a reinvention" following Noah's departure, though a new host has not been announced yet.
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11pm ET/PT on Comedy Central and is available to stream next-day on Paramount+.
