Tucker Carlson Claims Joe Scarborough Was Accused of Murder (He Wasn't)

During his show Monday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson falsely claimed that MSNBC host and former Representative Joe Scarborough "was accused of committing murder."

In 2001, Lori Kaye Klausutis, an aide to Scarborough while he was a Congressman, was found dead in his office in Fort Walton Beach, Florida at the age of 28. However, there were no signs of foul play, and a medical examiner concluded that she fainted as a result of a heart condition. During her fall, her head hit a desk, causing her death.

While discussing the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago on his show, Carlson referenced the death.

"There was endless huffing on television about something called 'the rule of law' and how absolutely no one is above that — no one, not even a former president," Carlson said.

He continued, "Keep in mind, no one is above the law. That was definitely the word from Joe Scarborough, a man who was accused of committing murder while serving as a member of Congress, yet somehow moved seamlessly to the MSNBC lineup without being charged or even investigated."

Scarborough was never a suspect or even a person of interest in Klausutis' death.
