Tyler Robinson reportedly made a phone call moments before climbing onto the roof to shoot Charlie Kirk, suggesting someone knew about his plan

Law enforcement officials have identified the suspected gunman in Charlie Kirk's assassination, as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. Meanwhile several details about him and his movements prior to the assassination have surfaced on social media. This includes a tweet by @rawsalerts, made on September 12.

The tweet claimed that there was footage that had captured Robinson making a phone call before he climbed up the roof and took a shot at Charlie Kirk. It suggested that there possibly was someone else involved in the plan, that Tyler was speaking to. Further details about the suspect were revealed by Utah Governor Spencer Cox and FBI Director Kash Patel. 

Tyler Robinson was taken into custody after a 33-hour long manhunt. Law enforcement officials initially had footages capturing who seemed like the suspected killer. However, they did not have an identity of the individual. Cox claimed that Tyler admitted killing the political activist to his father Matt Robinson.

The New York Times reported that the alleged assassin was taken into custody on Thursday, at St. George, near Zion National Park. This further promoted President Donald Trump to announce that the suspected killer of Kirk was apprehended. During an interview with 'Fox & Friends', the President said,

"I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him."

According to a press conference on Friday, Tyler Robinson confessed killing Charlie Kirk, to his father. In response, his father urged him to surrender to the police that prompted him to say that he would rather die. The father, Matt Robinson then happened to call a youth pastor who also was a family friend. 

Both of them then tried to calm Tyler down, following which US Marshals were called by the pastor, on Thursday. Governor Spencer Cox said that Tyler arrived at the campus about four hours before he allegedly assassinated Kirk. Cox even made references to statements given by Tyler's family members.

According to one of them, he appeared to be full of hate, while talking about Charlie Kirk. The family member further claimed that Tyler had particularly mentioned that Kirk was coming to Utah. According to Utah state records, Tyler was registered to vote but he was not directly associated with any political party.

As per reports by Al Jazeera, a church spokesperson confirmed that Tyler had joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, widely known as the Mormon church, when he was quite young. Reports also showed that Tyler appeared to be a bright student who even got an academic scholarship at Utah State University in 2021.

He, however, did not finish his course and attended the institute for only one semester. According to Al Jazeera reports, Tyler is currently a student at Dixie Technical College in St George, enrolled in the electrical apprenticeship programme. Reports further showed that he did not have any criminal records.
