Sci-fi comedy Upload has been renewed for Season 3 on Amazon Prime Video.
Created by Greg Daniels, Upload takes place in 2033, in a time when humans can pay to upload themselves into a virtual afterlife. The series follows computer programmer Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell), who dies and is uploaded into an luxury afterlife facility by his possessive, still-alive girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards). Meanwhile, Nathan forms a bond with Nora (Andy Allo), a customer service rep he meets in digital heaven.
“Upload has become a bona fide hit that continues to be one of the most-watched comedy originals on Prime Video,” said Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios in a statement. “The series continues to connect and provoke endless possibilities for the future of technology and humanity. With Greg’s distinct comedic take along with the dynamic creative team and talented actors, they’ve made a globally relevant series which we’re all incredibly proud to bring back another season for our customers.”
“I’m thrilled to continue the story of Nathan and Nora and the other residents of Lakeview and near-future America as they try to have fun and do the right thing in both the real and virtual worlds,” added Daniels.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Upload are currently streaming on Prime Video.
