Walmart has recalled close to 850,000 stainless steel water bottles sold in its stores. This move comes after worries as the lid may 'shoot off with force' and unexpectedly hit someone. This big take-back shows that even usual things at home might have risks we don't see.
Walmart stopped selling these bottles to make sure no one gets hurt. It reminds us how important it is for stores to check how safe the products are. Walmart took these bottles away to stop any harm and to show buyers that they care a lot about keeping them safe, even if it means they can't sell some items for a while.
Walmart has just pulled back its Ozark Trail 64-ounce Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottles due to big safety risks. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has shared that if drinks that bubble up like soda, milk, juice, or if food bits are left too long in these bottles, pressure might build up.
This can make the black screw-on lid fly off fast and hard. Sadly, three people got hit in the face by these lids and two of them now have lasting eye damage. If you own a shiny silver bottle with the model number 83-662 on it, it is part of this recall.

Sold on the website and in Walmart stores all over the country for about $15 since 2017, these bottles were pushed as a good buddy for trips outside. Yet now, they show how missed design mistakes can turn into unplanned risks. People are asked to quit using them now and check out Walmart's guide for getting their money back or a new one.
If you own one of these bottles, it's best to stop using it right away and find out how to get your money back. The recall notice says that you should take the product back to any close Walmart store for a full refund. They are doing this to keep customers safe and avoid any dangers that might come with the item. They said:
"Consumers can bring the bottle to their nearest Walmart store for a refund."
To help make things easier, Walmart's customer help is there to lead you through how to give it back and get your money. It's good to have your buy slip ready if you still have it, but many stores might help you even if you don't.
