Jennifer Lawrence was inspired to drop out of Bad Blood after watching The Dropout.
During a conversation with The New York Times' Kyle Buchanan, the Oscar-winning actress revealed that she had exited Adam McKay's film about Elizabeth Holmes after seeing Amanda Seyfried's performance in Hulu miniseries The Dropout.
"I thought she was terrific," the actress said, according to Buchanan. "I was like, 'Yeah, we don’t need to redo that. She did it.'" Buchanan followed up his tweet by revealing that Lawrence had showed up for drinks wearing Holmes' signature black turtleneck.
That said, she did show up for drinks wearing a black turtleneck: "I tried on a hundred outfits for this and ended up just looking like Steve Jobs. Or Amanda Seyfried."

Seyfried took home the Emmy Award for Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie this year for playing disgraced Theranos CEO Holmes. Lawrence was set to play the same role in McKay's Bad Blood, based on John Carreyrou's 2018 book Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup. The book chronicles the rise and fall of multi-billion dollar healthcare technology Theranos and Holmes's role in defrauding investors and patients.
The Dropout is streaming on Hulu.
