A past interview of 2 Live Crew’s ex-member, Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell, recently resurfaced. The Miami rapper is heard opening up about his experience at one of Donald Trump’s 1990s parties at his Palm Beach residence, Mar-a-Lago.

For those unaware, Ben Meiselas of MeidasTouch shared the 2016 conversation from Sirius XM’s Make It Plain podcast. He pointed out Uncle Luke’s multiple claims, including an indication of alleged drug use and the presence of underage girls at the party. The Changin' the Game rapper told the host, Mark Thompson, that he attended Trump’s Mar-a-Lago get-together with Eddie Murphy and Mike Tyson but left within 45 minutes. Uncle Luke said:

“He [Donald Trump] invited all of us [Luke, Murphy, and Tyson]. He was having his pageant contest going on and with his pageant contest, he ended up inviting us to the event.”

When asked about what made him leave so early, Uncle Luke responded:

“I mean, it was just a lot of things going on, you know, a lot of things that I don't care to engage in. And, you know, he showed us the house [...] I think I probably was there for every bit of maybe 45 minutes before I realized all these different things that was going on and I was like okay it's time for me to go.”

Elsewhere during the interview, The Luke LP artist made another claim regarding the age of many female attendees.

Uncle Luke suspected that many female guests were underage at Donald Trump’s alleged Mar-a-Lago party

When questioned further, Uncle Luke said “a lot of things” were going on at the party. He mentioned that he didn’t want to engage in the activities at someone else’s house to avoid getting filmed and being extorted later. He also claimed that there were many “half naked” and “naked” women at the party.

Uncle Luke shared that he felt a lot of the girls were underage. The rapper said:

“It was mostly pageant women and a lot of these women ain't of age. So, when you got a whole bunch of these women running around, [...] it's a lot of things going on. You know, some women look too young. [...] They were all enjoying themselves, that's what they were there for. But, were they old enough to be enjoying themselves, I don't know.”

The rapper maintained ambiguity around his answers and avoided diving into much detail concerning his claims.

Uncle Luke has been a vocal critic of Trump for years

Before Luther Campbell’s Make It Plain podcast interview aired, he had already been criticizing Trump, then-GOP presidential candidate. In an Instagram rant, Uncle Luke called out the Republican Party for choosing The Apprentice star. The rapper called out the Republicans for their hypocrisy, as he said (via the Miami New Times):

“Isn't this the party that came after me? The right-wing, Christian, conservative Republican Party? I spent millions and millions of dollars dealing with this Republican Party. Are you fucking serious? And now your nominee is out there talking about grab her by the c******? Are you serious?”

    He added,

“I want my money back. All you Republican, right-wing, family-Christian-values people... give me all my motherf*cking millions and millions of dollars back.”

During the 2024 election, Uncle Luke favored Kamala Harris over Donald Trump. According to a clip of an Instagram Live session shared by Art of Dialogue, the rapper slammed the Latinos after the majority of them voted for the 47th President. Luke vowed that he wouldn’t support the Hispanics once the mass deportations started happening.
