The Yellowstone Season 5 trailer wastes no time swearing John Dutton (Kevin Costner) in as Governor of Montana.
Last season, the Dutton patriarch announced his candicacy, running against his son Jamie (Wes Bentley) to spite him. This campaign was evidently successful, as he is sworn in during the trailer's first few seconds, but the drama in the Dutton family is only just starting.
The power plays of Yellowstone seemingly continue in Season 5, as John makes daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) his chief of staff and ousts the rest of the existing employees, beginning a new era for the far-reaching family.
"Signing this order is a declaration of war," Jamie tells his father. "We're already at war," John replies. The trailer also promises that "power has a price" as we see the series' characters in various states of fury, conflict, and everything in between.
Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and John Lindson, the Western drama stars the aforementioned Costner, Bentley, and Reilly, as well as Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelly Asbille, Jackie Weaver, Brecken Merrill, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, and Ryan Bingham.
Yellowstone returns for Season 5 on Paramount Network November 13.
